Individual Counseling

In a culture that prioritizes strength in the face of adversity, and a "fake it until you make it" mentality, one may find it difficult to acknowledge when life has become too difficult to manage on their own.  Through partnership between the therapist and client, work is done to inspire change and improve functioning and quality of life by examining issues that are difficult to face alone. Therapy may help you overcome obstacles that affect your well-being, increase positive feelings, help you learn skills to handle difficult situations, make healthy decisions, and reach personal goals. Many enjoy the journey of becoming more self-aware, and may continue ongoing therapy for self-growth.

Family/Couples Counseling

Positive functioning in family and intimate relationships can be challenging at times.  Developing effective communication skills, and identifying the strengths within the relationship and family structure can inspire improved functioning and interaction.  Many of the issues addressed through this form of therapy include: divorce/separation, co-parenting, behavior challenges, unexpected employment challenges, illness, death, conflicts within the immediate and extended family structure, coping with mental health diagnoses, poor communication and conflict resolution.  Family members may also find it beneficial to participate in individual counseling as various issues and family dynamics are identified and explored.
